California Wing is one of the major subordinate units of the Civil Air Patrol, the official auxiliary of the United States Air Force. Founded December 1, 1941, the Civil Air Patrol fulfills a three-fold mission in service to its members' community, state and nation. These missions include Emergency Services, Aerospace Education and youth leadership development, known as the Cadet Program.
