14 - 16 Mar Guided Training Exercise

California Wing will be hosting the 2008 USAF GTE (Guided Training Exercise) in March. (This replaces our biannual state AF monitored exercise). A wide variety of ES activities will be occurring statewide, with tasking assigned by PCR and CAP-USAF. Expected activities include transport, ELT search, missing aircraft search, reconnaissance, airborne and ground photos, SDIS, ARCHER, etc.

Primary exercise dates will be March 14-16, although there may be some minor tasking before or after those dates. Mission bases will be established in Northern California at Reid-Hillview Airport (San Jose) and in Southern California at Cable Airport.

All ES resources and personnel should be available for tasking during this statewide activity. No other training exercises should be scheduled for those dates.

More information regarding participation will be released in the coming weeks. Please put these dates on you calendar, and we look forward to a successful exercise

DATES : Saturday March 15 AND Sunday March 16 - 0700 HRS (tentative) to 1600 HRS (both days) No overnight billeting will be provided.

DUTIES TO INCLUDE: Flight line control (BEST SPOT FOR THE SHOW), recruiting, VIP Escort and VIP area control.

ADDED CIVIL AIR PATROL EXCLUSIVE EVENT: Private Meeting (and photo opp.) with Blue Angels pilot and a P-51 pilot.

COST: At the time of posting, negotiations are being arranged for complimentary lunch and water. Possible individual expense may be incurred for food and water (TBD).

UNIFORM: BDUs with canteen or camelback., Corporate Polos, CAP Alternative (No Blues)
