California Wing will be hosting the 2008 USAF GTE (Guided Training Exercise) in March. (This replaces our biannual state AF monitored exercise). A wide variety of ES activities will be occurring statewide, with tasking assigned by PCR and CAP-USAF. Expected activities include transport, ELT search, missing aircraft search, reconnaissance, airborne and ground photos, SDIS, ARCHER, etc. Primary exercise dates will be March 14-16, although there may be some minor tasking before or after those dates. Mission bases will be established in Northern California at Reid-Hillview Airport (San Jose) and in Southern California at Cable Airport. All ES resources and personnel should be available for tasking during this statewide activity. No other training exercises should be scheduled for those dates. More information regarding participation will be released in the coming weeks. Please put these dates on you calendar, and we look forward to a successful exercise |
