What is the current CAWG policy for funded on-boarding?

November 22, 2024

CAWG leadership has decided to better define the way we utilize the on-boarding mission (25-T-3563) to align with CAPS71-1 guidance. We are taking this action to better utilize and extend the mission resources with the goal of having more CAWG pilots. The following changes are effective immediately:

Each approved member is eligible for:

  • One (1) introductory flight

  • Two (2) G1000 VFR transition flights per the CAPS71-1 syllabus, if required

  • Up to 4 hours of flight time and 25 landings if training is conducted in an HP aircraft (182 or 206) AND a high-performance endorsement is needed

This will typically translate to three sorties maximum per member, maybe four with a HP transition.

By aligning with the CAPS71-1 guidance we hope to extend the reach of our funding and bring on more pilots.

Interested members should meet with their unit commanders, who will forward names to their group commanders for approval.
