Airborne Photographer Ground School

We are offering an Airborne Photographer (AP) Ground School in Santa Barbara on the weekend of May 20-21. Attending an AP ground school is a required step to be able to fly as AP in the upcoming Wing ESTA (Emergency Services Training Academy) or in a Group SAREx.

Objective: prepare members to become Airborne Photographers (AP) trainees, by teaching, practicing, and evaluating the Familiarization & Preparation Tasks and part of the Advanced Tasks.
Requirements:
Bring your own laptop with the following software installed:
Nikon ViewNX-i software installed (free download: https://www.nikonusa.com/en/nikon-products/product/imaging-software/viewnx_i/viewnx-i.html).
Google Earth Pro (free download: https://www.google.com/earth/about/versions/#download-pro)
Please install the software in advance and reach out if having issues. There will be no time to troubleshooting installation issues during the ground school.
Attend both days to be signed off for all tasks. If participation is limited, we may be able to squeeze in one day. If you only need a subset of the tasks, reach out to the contacts above to discuss your needs.
While there are no training requirements to attend this ground school and to be signed off in the tasks, in order be able to fly as AP you need to have be at least 18 year old, have GES done, and be standard MS.
Bring a CAP D7100/D7200 camera with you if possible.
