G1000 VFR Transition
June 19, 2025, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM (America/Los_Angeles)
CAWG seniors who are interested in the G1000,
On Thursday June 19th at 6:30pm, we will hold G1000 VFR transition training ground school over MS teams. The training will be roughly two hours. The link to join the meeting is below:
This meeting should also be in your calendars.
This training is an introduction to the G1000 for VFR operations. It is useful for anyone who is interested in the G1000, particularly mission observers and other aircrew positions. For CAP pilot trainees, this is the ground training requirement for CAP's G1000 VFR transition syllabus, which is required towards G1000 CAP pilot flight (in-air) training.
Pilots who require formal credit should send a CAPF 70-11 with their personal details already filled in to the presenters (cc'ed in this email) after the presentation to have the ground portion signed off. After flight training is complete (not just the ground portion), that form is complete and can be uploaded to ops quals for G1000 VFR transition training credit (in ops quals -> pilot -> prerequisites).
For reference, CAP's slides for this school are: part 1 and part 2.
Please also forward to cadets who may be interested.
