Group 2 ES Training (23-T-4703)

Day & Night Search and Rescue exercise with Mission Base located at the Watsonville Airport, EAA Hanger, 60 Aviation Way, Watsonville, CA 95076.  Exercise to locate a practice beacon transmitted located off site from the airport by aircraft, then dispatch ground teams to an a search area to recover.  This event is designed to include members of CAP Group 2 and additional personnel as needed, and potentially with the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Team for a multi-jurisdictional operation utilizing unifed command.

Exercise all functions of a SAR event with the goal of making the exercise as realistic as possible.  This will be acomplished to setting up a mission base at the Watsonville Airport and dispatching sortie of CAP aircraft to locate a practice beacon in the Santa Cruz County area.  Ground teams will be dispatched for the final retrieval of the beacon and returning it to the mission base.  Additional training scenarios will be used as needed to enhance member experience.

Success of the exercise willl be measured by the following objectives:

1)  No danger to the public--Safety of members is of the highest priorty

2)  Qualification/requalification of 6 MS & MO, 10 UDF & GTM, 6 MRO

3)  Exercise the Incident Command System; qualify additional base staff

4)  Build relations with other agencies and responders
