Group 5 SAREX Santa Rosa (23-T-4736)

This SAREX will be held the weekend after the Group 2 and 5 Tsunami drill.  In addition to flight operations, Sq. 157 and Sq. 23 will develop morning and afternoon scenarios that will involve sUAV flights, UDF missions and Ground Team missions.  The scenarios will each have a tsunami theme and provide opportunities for ground and flight resources to interact for completion of the mission.  This event will be open to all Group 5 units.

1.  On the date assigned, the squadron seniors and cadets will activate and respond to a simuated tsuamni event.

2.  Cadet and senior members will be assigned roles and respond to morning and afternoon scenarios as a member of the ground team, sUAV team, UDF team or flight team.

3.  At least 50% of cadet and senior members attending will be examed by approved skill evaluators to increase the number of trained personnel in ground team, UDF team, sUAV and flight teams.

4. This exercise will allow Base Staff, including the Incident Commander* and the Communication Unit to practice skills usually associated with an actual SAR/Disaster event.

5. If the USCG or Sonoma County Sheriff chooses to participate, this exercise will foster inter-agency cooperation and communications. This exercise will also exercise the current MOU that exisits between these agencies.
