Group 8 SAREX (23-T-4947)

The plan is for a two day SAR/DR exercise event operating from the San Diego Air and Space Museum Annex Facility at Gillespie Field (KSEE) in El Cajon California. Mission dates allow for two alternate weekend dates in case of inclement weather conditions on the primary weekend. sUAS team participation is desired as well as ASEL aircrew, ground team, and base staff members.

The primary focus of this event will be to train and certify 6-8 new Squadron 57 Members as Mission Scanners so they can progress to Mission Observer and Mission Pilot Training. Several of these new members should be TMPs prior to the exercise dates. Re-certification of aircrew, ground team, and base staff positions will also be available. sUAS training will also be accomplished if appropriate assets and mentors are available.

This exercise will support advanced task SQTR signoffs for all trainee’s attending the event. Air sorties will include new qualification of trainees in the MS, MO, UASMP and MP as available. Ground team training may include UDF, GTM, an GTL. Base Staff training will be available for all specialties.
