NorCal APAS/Tsunami Warning Communications Exercise (23-T-4598)

Tsunami Warning Communications Test 2023

Three Civil Air Patrol aircraft fly Airborne Public Address Systems (APAS) during the Tsunami Warning Communications Test to be held 29-Mar-23.  A virtual base will be setup in MS Teams and all launches will be remote.  Additional sorties allocated for practice.  

Three Civil Air Patrol aircraft will be available to fly Airborne Public Address Systems (APAS) during test and mission flights.  The Tsunami Warning Communications Test to be held 29-Mar-23.  This will require 3 trained crews.  In addition, prior to 29-MAR-23, there will be ground training on installation and possible training flights as necessary.  (MP/MO/MS)  Additional sorties allocated for post mission practice.

Base staff training will also take place.  IC/PSC/AOBD/MSA

Communications is a big part of this mission.  Set-up and operation from remote locations will require highly qualifiied personnel, with some training. (MRO/MSA)
