California Wing Members Featured in Nickelodeon Nick News Segment
In case you missed it on social media, our wing was the subject of a national Nickelodeon Network’s Nick News segment. The video was very well done and highlights the cadet program overall.
Congratulations to everyone involved, including our own Maj Kathy Brown, who was the featured O-ride pilot.
Original announcement from California Wing Commander, Col Ross Veta:
Dear Fellow California Wing Members,
I have more exciting news to share with you! For those that don’t know, there is a popular National Youth Network called Nickelodeon. Part of the line-up for Nickelodeon is a show called “Nick News” which is broadcast at 19:30 EST every Wednesday. Recently, Nick News filmed a segment about what it is like to be a Cadet in Civil Air Patrol right here in California. That filming took place at Squadron 144 and at the local airport. Everyone that was involved with the production of this program did a fantastic job representing Civil Air Patrol. This program is and will continue to be a great opportunity for Civil Air Patrol to get the message out Nationally about how great our Cadet program is. The Twitter and Facebook links indicate that the segment will air on national television tomorrow starting at 19:30 EST, but please check your local listings.
A big thanks to 1/LT. Jerry Camp our Wing PAO, Group 8, Squadron 144, our O-rides pilots and all of the members of California Wing that supported this great event. A special thanks to National Headquarters personnel for bringing California Wing this great opportunity and for the close work and support that was so vital to make this event such a success.
Be sure to tune in to the program tomorrow to see California Wing in action on NATIONAL TV!
