Civil Air Patrol’s Drill and Ceremonies School North and South 2024: A Resounding Success
California Wing, Civil Air Patrol
Civil Air Patrol’s highly anticipated Drill and Ceremonies School (DCS) North and South 2024 events have concluded with great success. These events, held in two separate regions of the state, brought together over 120 cadets for intensive training in precision drill, military customs, and leadership skills.
Remarkable Achievements:
- A total of 72 students graduated from DCS (31 in the North, 41 in the South).
- 56 cadets advanced their skills through participation in the cadet cadre, gaining valuable leadership experience (28 in the North, 28 in the South).
“The success of DCS North and South 2024 is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and passion of both the students and the cadet cadre,” said Capt. James J. Hockel, Commandant and Project Officer for both events. “This year’s DCS has honed the cadets’ drill and ceremonial skills and strengthened the leadership foundation that will benefit them throughout their Civil Air Patrol careers.”
To commemorate the events, each public affairs team crafted a weekend book highlighting key moments and accomplishments from the training. These visually engaging publications provide a snapshot of the cadets’ experiences and hard work. Links to the weekend books are available for viewing:
Looking Forward:
Capt. Hockel expressed his gratitude to all participants, volunteers, and public affairs teams for their contributions, and he looks forward to welcoming even more cadets to future DCS events.
